Erik arrived at the Jurisprudence Health Law Group PC with a variety of experiences that prepared him to serve our clientele. Before attending law school, Erik worked for nearly a decade as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Also before law school, Erik received his MPH with a focus on Gerontology and Aging. While working toward his MPH, Erik served as an intern at the Illinois Department on Aging and worked as a Research Specialist for the Center for Research on Health and Aging (CRHA). At CRHA, he conducted research on the relationship between environmental factors, neighborhood design, and senior health habits.

During law school, Erik continued preparing for a career serving the senior population and prepared for a career in healthcare law.  He again served as an intern at the Illinois Department on Aging assisting with the Department’s annual report to the Illinois General Assembly. Under “711 licensure,” Erik served as a law clerk for both the Medical and Health-Related Prosecution Units of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).  In this capacity, Erik gained valuable litigation experience while becoming familiar with the healthcare personnel regulatory environment. Erik received a Health Law Certificate upon graduating from law school.

After law school, Erik moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in the Program Compliance and Oversight Group (PCOG). In this capacity, Erik gained experience reviewing health insurance plans’ compliance programs and enforcing CMS’ compliance program standards.

Returning to Chicago, Erik completed an internship with a boutique legal consulting firm focused on hospital regulation and compliance. After this internship, Erik returned to the traditional practice of law through serving the western suburbs at a legal aid clinic.

Erik is committed to serving the growing senior population. Coupled with his commitment to using his legal skills to serve businesses providing valuable services to seniors in the community, Erik is prepared to serve the Jurisprudence Health Law Group PC’s clientele.
